9. A book you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving

 

The book I just finished: People Who Eat Darkness * Richard Lloyd Parry

 

I took a chance on this true crime due to its discount on Amazon for Kindle. I'd never heard of Parry, nor the Lucie Blackman/Carita Ridgway murders. So I jumped in, anticipating nothing.

 

I was hooked, enchanted, enthralled! I feel like I just spent the last 48 hours in Japan. I highly, highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys true crime, or a cracking mystery.
